It looks like the end of the CW Network's supernatural TV series "The Vampire Diaries" is getting near. Executive producer Julie Plec talked about crying over the show's "perfect ending" during the Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour panel last Sunday, Jan. 11, in Pasadena, California.

According to an Entertainment Weekly report, the TVD big boss and series creator Kevin Williamson already came up with the ending of "The Vampire Diaries" while working on the second season of the CW TV series. "[The Vampire Diaries co-creator] Kevin [Williamson] and I came up with and cried over our perfect ending ... and really stuck to that for many, many years," Plec shared at the TCA panel.

A Deadline report confirmed that "The Vampire Diaries" will continue to air after the CW Network renewed the TV series with another season. Executive producer Julie Plec teased that the ending is still rooted in the same idea that they had in past and still on the same path even though the storylines have evolved.

In the upcoming second half of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6, executive producer Caroline Dries teased in a THR report that the focus will be on the Gemini Coven where witch characters Liv (Penelope Mitchell) and Luke (Chris Brochu) came from. "We met them last season, and now we're starting to learn who their family is. We met Kai this season, their psychotic brother, and he's been in prison [world] for years," Dries shared.

Caroline Dries further revealed that Kai (Chris Wood), who has absorbed all of the magic from the Travelers' anti-magic boundary spell over Mystic Falls, is determined to accomplish his plans of merging with his twin sister Jo (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) in order to become the powerful leader of the Gemini Coven. "We'll watch that story culminate with a lot of drama and death," Dries teased.

As for the "Delena" relationship, Julie Plec teased that Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena's (Nina Dobrev) romantic relationship appears to be headed back on track where the two are working on reaching a "happy state of a functioning relationship" without the internal conflicts troubling them.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 returns with the second half episodes starting with episode 11 titled "Woke Up With a Monster" on Thursday night, Jan. 22, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network.
