Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard teamed up with fellow Canadian Justin Bieber in mixed doubles match against Hollywood stars Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart in the 11th edition of Desert Smash charity match at La Quinta Resort and Club on March 10. The proceeds of the charity tennis match will go to the Cancer for College organisation, which aims to provide college scholarship grants to cancer survivors.

Bouchard, who once said that Bieber was her dream celebrity date, took to Instagram and posted a photo from the said charity tennis event. Bouchard also played with 2002 BNP Paribas Open champion Daniela Hantuchova before she hit some backhands and exchanged volleys with the celebrity guests.

“So much fun playing tennis with @justinbieber Will Ferrell & @kevinhart4real at @desertsmash,” Bouchard wrote on Instagram. “And for Cancer for College, what a great cause.”

The Desert Smash charity event brings the professional tennis stars and Hollywood celebrities together to benefit the aforementioned foundation. Aside from Bouchard, the top tennis players from the Association of Tennis Professionals’ men’s tour also graced the event including World No. 1 doubles players Bob and Mike Bryan, Sam Querrey, Mardy Fish, American World No. 1 John Isner, and Fernando Verdasco. Other celebrity guests, namely, Kelly McCreary, Billy Bush, Sydney Davis, former N Sync member Lance Bass, Colton Haynes, Natasha Bedingfield, Lifehouse, and world-renowed DJ Bob Sinclar were among those who also gave time for the cause. Bieber, Bedingfield, and Lifehouse treated the audience in acoustic performances singing a few of their hit songs at the Tequila Herradura Desert Smash concert. Bouchard is currently competing at the 2015 BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells. Bouchard is drawn on the bottom half, whereby a potential quarterfinal clash against Caroline Wozniacki looms. Wozniacki was the 2011 champion at Indian Wells.

Seeded sixth in the tournament, Bouchard received a first round bye and will face the winner of Jana Cepelova of Slovakia and big-serving Lucie Hradecka of the Czech Republic in her opening second round match.
