“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” director Jonathan Liebesman is set to helm an Arthurian movie, “Man at Arms,” to go against Guy Richie’s “Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur.” A new twist on King Arthur’s legend, “Man at Arms” features an older Lancelot who is determined to make amends after destroying Camelot by falling in love with Guinevere.

A reminiscent of Clint Eastwood’s classic Western film “Unforgiven,” the upcoming movie is dubbed as a “great twist to the tried-and-true story.” Liebesman is set to work alongside Basil Iwanyk’s Thunder Road Pictures, both of them worked together on “Wrath Of The Titans” which starred “Gone Girl” star Rosamund Pike, Liam Neeson and Sam Worthington.

Drafted by Jeremy Lott, “Man at Arms” will be produced by Iwanyk, Adam Goldman through Aperture Entertainment and Bryan Burks, with Erica Lee to executive produce. Lott previously produced and written Zac Efron’s upcoming movie “The Falling” and wrote Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s “Lore” together with Goodman, according to Deadline.

The new “King Arthur” movie announcement came days after Guy Ritchie posted the first snap from “Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur” movie set. To be starred by “Sons of Anarchy” actor Charlie Hunnam, Ritchie’s take on the Arthurian legend features a young Arthur Pendragon who is unaware on his royal lineage until he grabs hold the magical sword Excalibur.

“Instantly challenged by the sword’s power, Arthur is forced to make some hard choices,” according to “Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur” synopsis. “Throwing in with the Resistance and a mysterious young woman named Guinevere, he must learn to master the sword, face down his demons and unite the people to defeat the tyrant Vortigern -- who murdered his parents and stole his crown -- and become king.”

Ritchie’s movie also stars Eric Bana as King Arthur’s father, Uther Pendragon, Jude Law as the villainous Vortigern and “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Strangers Tide” actress Astrid Berges-Frisbey as the Arthurian love interest Guinevere. “Game of Thrones” star Aiden Gillen (Littlefinger) is also set to star as Goosefat Bill and “Black Diamond” actor Djimon Hounsou as one of Arthur’s trusted knight, Bedivere.
