‘Supernatural’ Season 11, episode 3 spoilers: Synopsis and promo video tease Rowena’s return, Crowley and The Darkness

A synopsis and promo video tease what Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) will be up to in “Supernatural” Season 11 episode 3, titled “The Bad Seed.” The Winchester brothers will not only help Castiel (Misha Collins) with his struggle on Rowena’s curse, but they will also search for the Darkness, especially now that Dean knows she is the baby they saved at a hospital in the premiere episode. According to the new episode’s synopsis on Carter Matt, Rowena (Ruth Connell) will try to secure her power to protect herself from Sam and Dean. The Winchester hunters are after the red-haired witch because she walked away with the “Book of the Damned” after removing the Mark of Cain on Dean’s arm in the finale episode of “Supernatural” Season 10.

Sam and Dean also want Rowena to get rid of the spell that she placed on Castiel so their angel friend will no longer struggle from its horrible effects. In the promo video, Sam is able to track down Rowena, who dons a blonde wig to hide from the people after her.

Meanwhile, the episode synopsis further teases that Sam and Dean will be looking for the missing baby girl associated with the Darkness. Dean is still unaware that baby Amara has already grown into a young girl after feeding on the soul of Deputy Jenna Nickerson (Laci J. Mailey) in the second episode, titled “Form and Void.”

However, the Winchester brothers must hurry in finding Amara because Crowley (Mark Sheppard) has already tracked down the pre-biblical threat in the second episode. Crowley, the King of Hell, also offered young Amara in the previous episode’s ending scene with more souls to feed on to speed up the process of her growth.

In the next episode, Crowley will try to find a way to make use of his connection with the Darkness for his personal gain. Crowley told Dean in the previous episode that he can taste the extent of the Darkness’ power.

“Supernatural” Season 11 returns with episode 3, titled “The Bad Seed,” on Wednesday night, Oct. 21. The brand new episode will air at 9/8c on the CW Network.
