The Ghostface killer once again engaged Emma Duvall, played by Willa Fitzgerald, in a game of hide-and-seek in “Scream: The TV Series” episode 7, titled “In the Trenches.” The outcome of the Ghostface killer’s game was another horrific death. The victim is someone close to Emma. The ‘fatality’ in the MTV series opens up about what happened in the latest episode in an interview.

Spoiler Alert: This feature contains major “Scream: The TV Series” spoilers.

In “Scream: The TV Series” episode 7, Emma rescued Will Belmont, played by Connor Weil, from the Ghostface killer with the help of her friends Noah Foster, played by John Karna, Jake Fitzgerald, played by Tom Maden, and Brooke Maddox, played by Carlson Young. However, Will still died a brutal death in the ending scene of the episode and everything happened in front of Emma.

“Scream: The TV Series” cast member Connor Weil talked about his character’s horrific death scene and how it will affect Emma, in an interview. In an interview with E! News, Weil admitted that the MTV series wanted the viewers to think his character is safe first before delivering the shocking ending scene.

“Because that just hits home that nobody's safe, at any moment. You can try and outsmart the writers and predict what's going to happen, but in the long run, it's just going to come out of nowhere,” Weil explained in the E! News interview. Even though his character is dead, Weil teased that the fans will still see Will one more time in “Scream: The TV Series.”

When asked to share his theory on the identity of the Ghostface killer, Weil responded it would be cool if Emma is the killer the entire time and she has no idea because there is a different side to herself. The other characters suspected of being the Ghostface killer in the latest episode are Jake and high school teacher Seth Branson, played by Bobby Campo.

Another suspicious character in the MTV series is Emma’s new love interest, Kieran Wilcox, played by Amadeus Serafini. Weil continued to share in the interview that the other cast members were kept in the dark about Will’s fate in the seventh episode.

“So when we read the episode together, everybody was like, ‘What?!’ and I was just like, ‘Yeah…’ It was an emotional thing to watch the other cast members find out I was dying,” Weil said in an interview with TVLine. Meanwhile, Will’s death will definitely affect Emma in the next episode because the Ghostface killer is really smart and the people close to Emma are clearly not safe.

“The killer really messes with her, so that technically, she’s the one who did this. It’s going to be rough for her,” Weil added. “Scream: The TV Series” will return with episode 8 titled “Ghosts” on Tuesday night, Aug. 18, at 10/9c on MTV.
