The Galaxy Note series from Samsung are the only smartphones to feature an intuitive stylus called the S-Pen. The S-Pen is undoubtedly the salient feature of the Galaxy Note handsets. Now Samsung has announced the arrival of the all-new Advanced S Pen, which brings enhanced sensitivity and advanced editing features.

At San Francisco, Samsung unleashed the Advanced S-Pen during the developers' conference. In comparison to the S-Pen that comes with the Note 4, the Advanced S-Pen offers twice the sensitivity. The Advanced S Pen can be used by tilting, and it understands other actions like velocity and rotation, states SamMobile. Moreover, users will be able to take advantage of its advanced editing options. The Advanced S-Pen will also support real-life handwriting recognition.

The newly revealed Advanced S-Pen will work with the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge. The South Korean tech giant will also roll out an updated SDK for its stylus so app developers will be able to take advantage of the highly responsive stylus. The Galaxy Note 4 comes with a stylus that is similar to the one that comes with a professional tablet and offers great accuracy. Samsung will be selling the Advanced S-Pen on its online stores as an accessory. The pricing of the improved stylus has not been revealed yet.

Though Samsung has been offering a stylus on Galaxy Note handsets since 2011, the S-Pen that comes with the Galaxy Note 4 is considered as the best ever stylus from Samsung. According to SamMobile, the Galaxy Note 4 S-Pen comes with enhanced sensitivity and has the same pressure points of the S-Pen that came with Note 3, Note 2 and the original Note.

The S-Pen available with the Note 4 has a built-in button that launches the Air Command menu, which lets users access stylus-related features like Action Memo, Smart Select, Image Clip and Screen Write. Since the S-Pen of Note 4 supports a smaller focus point, it is reportedly a great tool for editing, Ubergizmo reports.
