Amazon's current deal offers the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone with a price set at $99 on-contract. The Amazon deal is applicable to the Sprint and Verizon variants of Samsung's latest flagship.

According to the G4Games report, the Amazon deal is applicable to new and existing subscribers who wish to upgrade their device or have an additional new line. Furthermore, the price cut stands equally for the individual or family plans.

As for the off-contract price of the Samsung Galaxy S5 variants, the Android Geeks report claims the smartphone can be purchased with the price tag of $699. The US carriers offer as well the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphones in white and black colour options.

The report further confirmed that the Sprint and Verizon variants of the Samsung Galaxy S5 are in stock and Amazon carries out the orders placed as well as the package's shipping schedule. However, no details were revealed on how long Amazon will offer the deal on the Samsung Galaxy S5 so interested subscribers are advised to grab the opportunity.

The Samsung Galaxy S5, which was officially announced in February 2014, sports a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm MSM8974-AC Snapdragon 801 processor, 2 GB of RAM, Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system with the latest TouchWiz UI and Adreno 330 GPU.

The new TouchWiz user interface on the Samsung device offers a number of features such as Ultra Battery Saving mode and Download Booster. However, Sprint's variant had the Download Booster disabled.

The other features and specs included in the Samsung Galaxy S5 are the internal storage capacities of 16 GB or 32 GB that can be expanded up to 128 GB through the available microSD card slot, a 16 MP primary camera that has phase detection autofocus and LED flash, a 2 MP secondary camera capable of dual video call, Wi-Fi connectivity and hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, NFC, Infrared port, microUSB v3.0, a 2800 mAh Li-Ion battery with talk time up to 21 hours while music play is up to 67 hours. Consumers can choose from the available colour options of the Samsung Galaxy S5 which are Charcoal Black, Copper Gold, Electric Blue and Shimmery White.
