Filming of “Power” season 6 is already underway, and the first casting news for the show has surfaced online. Two cast members of the TV series have reportedly been promoted to series regulars, and another actor has been cast to play the role of a “powerful” attorney.

According to a report by Deadline, Evan Handler will play the role of US Attorney for the Eastern District Jacob Warner. The character is said to be “formidable and powerful,” and he will use the weight of his office to get the answer he needs. He will be there to clean up many messes, and he is apparently “not built to play nice.”

Handler made a name for himself in TV series like “Californication,” and “Sex in the City.” He has also been a part of the 1996 movie “Ransom.”

Among the actors who are already a part of the TV series, Mike Dopud (Jason Micic) has been promoted to series regular. Jason is a Serbian crime boss who has appeared on screen a few times as Tommy’s (Joseph Sikora) drugs connect. With an expanded role for the character, fans will get to see more of Jason in the next season.

Gabriela Curnen (Blanca Rodriguez) has also been promoted to series regular. The actress plays an incorruptible NYPD cop who has been going after Angela Valdes (Lela Loren).

Now that the case against Angela is expected to become public, Blanca’s role will be bigger as they fight the case. What will be crucial for them is to get someone to testify against Angela or Ghost (Omari Hardwick).

“Power” season 6 is set to premiere in 2019. The producers are yet to announce a release date. The plot of expected to focus on the rivalry between Ghost and Tommy, as the two friends have turned into enemies.
