Two promo videos of “Outlander” episode 11, “The Devil’s Mark,” have been released by the producers. The videos show the trial of Claire and how Jamie will react to the allegations of her being a witch, the punishment to which is to be burnt alive. [Spoiler alert]

The previous episode of “Outlander” ended with Claire getting arrested for witchcraft along with her friend Geillis. The videos of episode 11 show that the two women will be tried for their “crimes.” Ned Gowan will attempt to help the ladies, but for some reason he says that he is able to save only one of them.

Geillis confronts Claire about her secrets about her past and why she is there. This may be the episode where her secret about time travel may finally get revealed. Geillis says that it is possible for her to return to 1968.

Claire may only return to Craigh Na Dun if she manages to get her name cleared at the trial. Her husband, Jamie, is angry at the trail. It is unclear whether he attempts to rescue her during the trial. Claire can be seen denouncing the trail process by calling everyone present there as “murderers” and saying that they were going to “burn in hell.”

It is unclear if the plot surrounding the mysterious letter Claire received in the previous episode will be revealed in “Outlander” episode 11. Geillis had denied sending any letter to her, when suddenly they were arrested by people accusing them of being witches.

Geillis was previously seen performing the same ritual that Claire had seen earlier, when she was still with Frank in the future. Claire’s actions of holding the dead baby in her arms in the previous episode may be used as evidence against her during the trial. The two women appear to get little sympathy from the people present during the trial, with one woman saying “burn the witch.”

Readers should note that Laoghaire has been trying to create trouble for Claire in order to win Jaime back. But will the events force the two newlyweds closer together? Jamie is expected to go back to Lallybroach, his homeland, in episode 12 of “Outlander.” This suggests that Jamie may save his wife and travel to his family home to find sanctuary.
