Motorola Moto Z review, a great modular phone that relies too much on its Mods

The Motorola Moto Z Play is an affordable modular smartphone that is cheaper than the LG G5. The smartphone stands out for its incredible battery life and this is perhaps the best argument on its behalf for purchasing the phone. Reports suggest that the Moto Z Play can last up to two days.

Speaking of its specs, the Motorola Moto Z Play has a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. It has the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system that can be upgraded to the Android 7.0 Nougat OS. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and Adreno 506 GPU provide decent performance.

The 3GB RAM Moto Z Play has 32GB internal storage capacity, expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. Its 16MP front snapper (4K-enabled) has dual-LED (dual tone) flash, laser autofocus and phase detection. Other camera features include geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR.

The 5MP front camera has LED flash and supports 1080p resolution. A fingerprint sensor has been included. The Motorola Moto Z Play boasts of a non-removable Li-Ion 3510 mAh battery, informs GSMArena.

The Moto Z Play is definitely a take-off with a luxurious and sleek build. The handset feels sharp in hand and performance-wise provides is full of power. As per an earlier report by Motorola Australia, the Motorola Moto Z Play handset is available for $699.

Things get exciting when MotoMods are included. These add-on components attach directly to the back of the device. One can get a Hasselblad 10X optical zoom camera, Incipio power pack and JBL speaker among others.

A nano-coating technology makes the Motorola Moto Z Play water-resistant but not waterproof.
