Steve Harvey has finally broken his silence following the “Miss Universe 2015” blunder in December, where he mistakenly announced Miss Columbia and not Miss Philippines as the winner. The host recalled the events leading up to the coronation announcement and also denied reports claiming he had made a mistake because he had failed to join the pageant rehearsals.

Speaking on his radio show “The Steve Harvey Morning Show,” the “Miss Universe 2015” host admitted he intentionally corrected his mistake right there and then after Miss Columbia was crowned because he felt it was the right thing to do. He also said he went through all the pageant rehearsals and confessed that he and Miss Columbia Adriana Arevalo are not on speaking terms even after he tried to reach out to her several times.

His confession and recollection leading up to the “Miss Universe 2015” flub has so far received mixed reactions from Twitter users.

On his radio show, Harvey had admitted to his mistake. "I don't feel sorry for me. I don't feel sorry for the pageant – the pageant will now be bigger that it's been. My only regret is how this woman felt (Miss Columbia) and none of us can know what that is... I felt for her more than me. So I felt for that. But at the same time, how could I not let Miss Philippines, who actually won the event – she got the most points, she actually was the real winner – so why would I wait [until after the live show to correct myself]?" the "Miss Universe 2015" host said in a statement posted by Rappler.

Harvey also spoke up against reports claiming he hadn’t joined the rehearsals, resulting to the “Miss Universe 2015” flub. He admitted on his radio show that he attended the table read, joined the pageant walkthrough on Friday and also attended the entire dress rehearsal on Saturday.

His statements refute Perez Hilton's, one of the “Miss Universe 2015” judges, who claimed Harvey had a hangover when the flub happened. Hilton had suggested in his video interview with “Good Morning America” that the "Miss Universe 2015" host had drank the night away prior to the coronation night on Dec. 20.
