Microsoft Lumia 940, Lumia 940 XL Concept Renders Surface: To Feature 25MP PureView Camera With Triple-Tone LED Flash And 128GB Memory

Microsoft has not officially announced the Lumia 940 and the bigger sibling Lumia 940 XL yet. However, the rumours surrounding both the smartphones are quite rife and reports say, the handsets could feature aluminium unibody design. Moreover, new concept renders designed by Microsoft Lovers have surfaced online.

Going by the released concept renders, both Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL will be sleek and carry cutting-end specifications and features. The smaller Lumia 940 will apparently feature a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display packed with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels screen resolution. There will reportedly be three variants of the Lumia 940 based on the memory configuration and they are: 32 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage capacity. While the 32 GB model will be powered by a hexa-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 808) chipset, the 64 GB and the 128 GB Lumia 940 versions will reportedly be powered by an octa-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 815) chip. Moreover, the smartphone will be backed by a solid 3 GB of RAM configuration. When it comes to graphics, Intel’s Real Sense will apparently take care of the 3D capabilities on the handset. On the software end, based on the concept, the device will run on Windows 10 out of the box, says Phone Arena.

Moving on to the camera configuration, the Lumia 940 will apparently sport a whopping 25 MP PureView rear-facing unit bundled with Zeiss lens. To top it off, the camera unit will also come with triple-tone LED flash, in addition to supporting 4K video recording and third-generation OIS. Furthermore, the handset will also house a gracious wide-angle 5 MP front-facing shooter for selfies. Lastly, the whole configuration will be held together and powered by a killer 3,250 mAh battery unit with rapid charging feature on board.

On the other hand, the Microsoft Lumia 940 XL will apparently feature a huge 5.7-inch display and 1,440 x 2,560 pixels screen resolution. Notably, the outdoor visibility of the screen is believed to be excellent in this handset. Even though, the key specifications are same as the smaller sibling Lumia 940, this Lumia 940 XL will reportedly come with 4 GB of RAM configuration. Plus, the handset will house a much-bigger 3,950 mAh battery unit. Adding a cherry on top, the Lumia 940 XL will feature a digital pen like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 phablet. Speaking of Lumia 940 release date, both the models will be unveiled alongside the Windows 10 for phones, says Phone Arena. Nonetheless, readers should note that, Microsoft has not confirmed the Lumia 940 XL/Lumia 940 specifications thus far.
