The Microsoft Lumia 950 flagship smartphone comes with remarkable specs and sleek appeal. Undoubtedly, it’s one of the major competitors to the iPhone 6s.

The Apple iPhone 6S was launched in September with improved features compared to last year’s iPhone 6. Here’s the comparison of both handsets on the basis of specifications, features and price:

Design and Display

The Microsoft Lumia 950 comes in a polycarbonate chassis while the iPhone 6s boasts a premium appeal with a full metal jacket. The Lumia 950 measures 145 mm x 73.2 mm x 8.2 mm and weighs 150 grams. It comes in two colour options: black and white. The iPhone 6s weighs 192 grams and measures 138.3 mm x 67.1 mm x 7.1 mm. It’s available in space gray, silver, gold and rose gold.

The Lumia 950 offers Quad HD resolution on its 5.2-inch display with a pixel density of 564 ppi. The iPhone 6s features a full 4.7-inch HD screen enabled with 3D Touch, a feature that allows the display to differentiate between varied touch pressures to deliver relevant feedback.

Chipset, RAM and Storage

The Snapdragon 808 SoC with its hexa-core CPU powers the Lumia 950 along with 3 GB of RAM. It features an internal storage capacity of 32 GB. The microSD slot on the device can support up to 200 GB.

The iPhone 6s is powered by a dual-core A9 chipset along with 2 GB of RAM. There’s no microSD slot on the device but it’s available in three storage options like 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB.

Camera and Additional Features

The Lumia 950 has a 20 MP camera enabled with OIS and triple LED flash. On the front, it has a 5 MP camera. The iPhone 6s features a 12 MP camera with dual LED flash and has a selfie camera of 5 MP. The screen of the iPhone 6s brightens up three times to function as a flash while snapping photos from the front camera.

The Apple iPhone 6s has a fingerprint sensor inside its Home button. It facilitates wireless payment through the Apple Pay service. The Lumia 950 comes with a new biometric iris scanner. It’s also got a USB Type-C connector and wireless charging. The Continuum functionality allows the Lumia 950 to function as a full-fledged PC by connecting it to a docking station, Phone Arena reported.

Battery and Price

The Microsoft Lumia 950 has a removable battery of 3,000 mAh. The unlocked handset will be available for $549 (AU$765). The iPhone 6s that features a 1,715 mAh non-removable battery is available at AU$929 for its 16 GB storage variant. The 64 GB model is priced at AU$1079.
