The Lumia 535 is the first Microsoft branded Lumia handset. Even though it has arrived with modest specs, it is comparatively better than most of the previously released low-end Lumia handsets such as Lumia 635. Here is a comparison between the Lumia 625 that was released in August 2013 and the newly launched Lumia 535.

Design And Display
The Lumia 625 has a thickness of 9.2 mm and weighs 159 g whereas the new Lumia 535 is slimmer and lighter with a thickness of 8.8 mm and weighs 146 g. Also, the Lumia 625 is a single SIM device whereas the Lumia 535 supports two SIM cards.

As far as appearance is concerned, both the handsets have entry-level appeal and the multiple colour options help in accentuating their beauty. The Lumia 625 and the Lumia 535 are available in colours like orange, green, black and white. However, the Lumia 535 is available with additional colours like gray and blue.

The Lumia 625 has a 4.7-inch display supporting 480 x 800 pixels with 199 ppi. On the other hand, the Lumia 535 has a larger 5-inch display supporting 540 x 960 pixels along with pixel count of 220 ppi. The display of the Lumia 625 is protected by Gorilla Glass 2 and the Lumia 535 features Gorilla Glass 3.

Processor, RAM And Storage
The Lumia 625 is powered by Snapdragon 400 chipset that comprises of 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and Adreno 305 graphics. It is coupled with 512 MB of RAM. The internal storage of the device is 8 GB and the microSD slot supports up to 64 GB.

The Lumia 535 features a low-end Snapdragon 200 chipset featuring 1.2 GHz Cortex A7 quad-core processor and Adreno 302 graphics along with 1 GB of RAM. The inbuilt storage capacity of Lumia 535 is 8 GB and the external storage supports up to 128 GB of microSD.

Camera, Software And Battery
The primary camera of Lumia 625 is of 5 MP that is enabled with LED flash and full HD video recording. The frontal camera can only produce VGA quality results. The camera sitting at the backside of the Lumia 535 is also 5 MP that comes with LED flash. However, it does not support full HD video recording as it can shoot only 480 pixels quality videos. The 5 MP camera has been built to snap good quality selfies.

The Lumia 625 comes loaded with older Windows Phone 8 OS that can be upgraded to the new Windows Phone 8.1 build whereas the Lumia 535 comes preinstalled with the new build. The Lumia 625 has a battery of 2000 mAh capacity whereas the Lumia 535 comes with a slightly smaller battery of 1905 mAh capacity.
