Ready to retire from action hero roles and lay his butt-kicking skills to rest, renowned action star Liam Neeson revealed he might quit action-oriented films in the near future. The "Taken" star admits that there is a limit to the number of action movies he could do.

Although the success of “Taken” and its reprised films created an upsurge to his career, the 62-yeard-old kick-ass star knows that his energy could only carry on for so long. “Maybe two more years. If God spares me and I’m healthy,” he said as quoted by The Guardian. He even dropped hints about turning over his action star badge during press rounds for “Taken 3,” saying, “If I feel audiences saying, ‘Come on, he’s 62, enough is enough,’ I’m very sensitive to that and if I pick up that vibe it will all stop. He added that he might want to start playing dads or grandfathers after he retires from the adrenaline-pumped scenes. He also believes that the third “Taken” film will be the last in the series.

Neeson first came to light in dramas such as “Schindler’s List” and “Love Actually” and transitioned to action and thriller films after “Taken” became an instant hit in 2008, which gave rise to two sequels that altogether grossed over $800 million worldwide. In the franchise, he played Bryan Mills, a retired covert who relied on his old skills to protect his family from sex traffickers. Until then Hollywood has “seen him in a different light” and started giving him roles in the action and thriller scope, such as “Non-Stop” and “A Walk Among the Tombstones,” among others. His upcoming movie “Run All Night,” where he plays an estranged father out to protect his son from a mobster, will be opening Friday.
