In April, an unnamed LG Windows Phone handset was reported to be under wraps in Verizon. However, now, confirmation on the existence of such an LG smartphone with Windows Phone OS on board has surfaced. This particular LG Windows Phone has reportedly been spotted at the company Website, revealing the name of the handset as “LG Lancet.”

As it turns out, Verizon will apparently sell the LG Lancet in the U.S. When it comes to software, the device will run on Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 straight out of the box and not the rumoured Windows 10 for phones OS. In the meantime, Windows Central opines that, the LG Lancet release date could be anytime soon, while the Windows 10 for phones release date is several months away.

Furthermore, Windows Central also says, the LG Lancet looks similar to the competitor Microsoft's Lumia 640. In any case, the low to mid range Windows Phone handsets are reportedly a rage nowadays and therefore, the upcoming budget-friendly LG device could make an impact.

As far as the key LG Lancet specifications go, the device will reportedly come with a pocket-friendly 4.5-inch display and 480 x 854 pixels screen resolution. Under the hood, the device will be powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 410) SoC clocked at 1.2 GHz. When it comes to camera configuration, the smartphone will apparently sport an 8 MP rear-facing unit and a VGA shooter for selfies.

To top it off, the LG Lancet will reportedly come equipped with 8 GB of internal storage capacity and microSD card support for further expansion. Plus, the handset will come housed with a modest 2,100 mAh battery unit. In addition, LG is apparently gearing up to house many Android features in the Windows Phone. Therefore, the Knock On feature that helps in waking up the handset with just a double-tap will also be present in the LG Windows Phone. In addition, the Quick Memo, Soft Light, Live Shot and Gesture Shot features specific to camera that lets the user to capture selfies with an illuminated screen or a hand motion can also be found in the upcoming handset. Nonetheless, readers should note that, the tech giant has not confirmed the LG Lancet specifications thus far.
