Director Guy Ritchie recently released an official behind the scene photo of himself and “Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur” lead actor Charlie Hunnam. Officially opening the first day of filming, the British director posted the snap on Twitter featuring the KORT set and the British actor donning a heavy green coat with fur.

The movie follow’s “a young Arthur who is unaware of the life he was born for until he comes in contact with the magical sword Excalibur. With its power, he will have to defeat the tyrant Vortigern to avenge his parents' murders, regain his rightful crown and become King,” according to “Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur” official synopsis.

Known for his role as Jax Teller in FX biker drama series “Sons of Anarchy,” the 34-year-old hunk is set to star in a multi-film version of the Arthurian legend which is scheduled to be released on July 22, 2016. Written by Joby Harold, the “epic adventure film” is Hunnam's big role after turning down the lead role in “Fifty Shades of Grey” and wrapping up his TV role in December.

Starring alongside Hunnam is veteran actor Eric Bana who is set to play Uther Pendragon, King Arthur’s father. The role isn’t the biggest for the actor, but according to Variety, the studio and Ritchie are looking for a big name to play the part of Arthur’s father and make an impact during his time onscreen. Liam Neeson (“Taken”) was rumoured to be the first choice before the role circled back to Bana.

Another big actor in the film is Academy Award nominee Jude Law whose works range from psychological thriller to epic war drama. “King Arthur” is going to be a reunion for both Law and Hunnam who starred 2003’s “Cold Mountain” with Australian actress Nicole Kidman and Renee Zellweger. The 42-year-old father of five is set to play the villainous Vortigern, the king who murdered Arthur’s family and claimed his throne.

“Blood Diamond” star Djimon Hounsou is set to play Bedivere, a trusty supporter of King Arthur and one of the first knights to join the fellowship of the Round Table. “Game of Thrones” star Aidan Gillen, or better known as Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish in the HBO epic fantasy series, is going to play Goosefat Bill.

The only rose among the male-dominated cast is “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Strangers Tide” actress Astrid Berges-Frisbey as Guinevere. Known for her as Syrena in Jerry Bruckheimer’s film, the 28-year-old model-actress joined the ensemble cast in September 2014.
