Actor Robert Downey Jr. paid Guy Ritchie a visit at his home in London. Downey played the title role in Sherlock Holmes which was directed by Ritchie.

The Daily Mail reported that 'presumably, the pair were holding some kind of cloak and dagger meeting to discuss the upcoming sequel to the flick, which is set to start shooting in October.' This remains a speculation as the subject of the meeting remains unknown.

Ritchie's 2009 film adaptation Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's books were received with mixed reviews upon its Christma release. A. O. Scott, of the New York Times concluded Ritchie's approach to films was 'to make cool movies about cool guys with cool stuff' and Sherlock Holmes was just 'a series of poses and stunts.

Jude Law who played Dr. Watson in the film recently told Empire that 'it looks likely that we're going to shoot the second 'Sherlock Holmes' in October.' He clarified that he does not know yet where the story will go. 'There are a lot of Sherlock Holmes novels to choose from.'
