Just two weeks after longtime cast member Kelly Osbourne quit E!’s “Fashion Police,” Kathy Griffin has followed her exit, after just seven episodes of being a panelist, as announced on a lengthy tweet she posted on Thursday. Griffin wrote that her "style does not fit with the creative direction of the show," her departure leaving the show's board cut into half its force.

Griffin, 54, came to “Fashion Police” since its re-launch in January, after a long hiatus following the death of Joan Rivers. She replaced the late Rivers, who is also her friend and mentor, as member of the panel, joining Giuliana Rancic and another newbie Brad Goreski.

Although ratings have been second-rate since its comeback episode, the show was placed on the hot seat after panelist Rancic’s red-carpet assessment of African-American singer-actress Zendaya Coleman, The Hollywood Reporter stated. Rancic suggested “the smell of marijuana,” referring to Coleman’s new dreadlocks. Despite Rancic sending public apologies, her offensive remark first prompted Osbourne’s departure and certainly echoed Griffin’s tweet on how the show critiques celebrity looks.

"There is plenty to make fun of in pop culture without bringing people's bodies into it,” the comedian wrote. She further added that she didn’t want to use her comedy “to contribute to a culture of unattainable perfectionism and intolerance towards difference,” being an advocate of feminism and gay rights who believed that intelligent humor is only permitted by context. She then thanked E! for having her and wished the network and its producers well.

In a statement, an E! representative confirmed Griffin’s tweet, saying, "We wish her all the best and are grateful for her time on the show, as well as the many laughs that she gave us all. Fashion Police will return, as scheduled, on Monday, March 30 at 9 pm with our talented co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski and executive producer Melissa Rivers." There has been no word yet on who will permanently replace Griffin and Osbourne.
