Kate Middleton is said to be stealing the spotlight away from Princess Beatrice. The latter is believed to "resent" the Duchess of Cambridge, especially since the announcement of her second pregnancy.

The rumoured rift between Kate Middleton and Princess Beatrice, the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, is reportedly still ongoing. According to Express writer Adam Helliker, Princess Beatrice "resents" Duchess Kate's success. "Beatrice, who is sixth in line of succession to the throne, feels 'overshadowed' by Kate and has become 'resentful' of the worldwide interest in her," he wrote.

Helliker claimed this speculation is further highlighted in an article from Woman's Day. The publication featured the two royal family members on its Sept. 22 report. It touched on the matter of their supposed rift. According to the magazine, Princess Beatrice has complained to her friends about the media attention Kate Middleton is getting. She has reportedly even made snide remarks about the Duchess of Cambridge and her sister Pippa. She's believed to have called Kate a "commoner," while she described Pippa as "vacuous" and "pushy."

The rumoured rift between the two royals was reportedly heightened when Kate Middleton announced her second pregnancy. Princess Beatrice was set to announce her engagement to boyfriend of seven years, Dave Clark. A palace source told the publication that Beatrice thought her announcement "would be foremost in people's thoughts across the Commonwealth for the next six or eight months."

However, the Duchess reportedly took the spotlight away even before Beatrice could make her announcement. The insider claimed Beatrice feels "Kate is hogging all the limelight and it's not fair." Furthermore, the 26-year-old is set to have a spring wedding in mind. However, the event will supposedly be overshadowed by the birth of Kate Middleton and Prince William's second child. The Duchess of Cambridge is due to give birth in spring as well.

But according to Hellike's friend, whose name was not mentioned, the rumoured rift between Kate Middleton and Princess Beatrice is "not true." The friend claimed Beatrice "admires Kate" and is "too good-natured" to say bad things about the Duchess of Cambridge. Likewise, the palace has yet to comment on the report from Woman's Day.
