Prince William and Kate Middleton came together to honour war veterans and fallen soldiers on Saturday. The royal couple was accompanied by Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip and other senior members of the family at the Festival of Remembrance in London, which remembered the heroic wartime sacrifices of the soldiers.

For the sombre afternoon, Middleton donned a little black dress with a bejeweled red poppy pin to remember the fallen while her husband opted for a classic black suit, red striped tie and a matching poppy pin. William also wore a pair of spectacles on the public outing. According to Popsugar, Middleton's lace dress is from Dolce & Gabbana and she paired it with classic black pumps. She completed her look with her satin Anya Hindmarch clutch. The Duchess left her hair fall over her shoulders.

According to People, it is the first time that the royal couple attended the annual event held at the Royal Albert Hall by the British Legion. The charity raises funds to help war veterans and the members of their family, and is also behind the country's omnipresent red poppy pins. Royal Albert Hall president Anthony Travis and Royal British Legion vice admiral Peter Wilkinson greeted the couple, before they took their seats.

William and Middleton were sitting in the same box, which also had Prince Phillip and the Queen. The event also had singers Rod Stewart, Pixie Lott, Gregory Porte and Andrea Bocelli, who performed alongside various military bands, including the Queen's Colour Squadron, the Band of HM Royal Marines, the Central Band of the Royal Air Force, and the Band and Pipes of the Brigade of Gurkhas, People added.

The Festival of Remembrance will be followed by the traditional service at the Cenotaph, where the Queen will lay a wreath in memory of fallen war heroes.
