Ivanka Trump’s name has always been a recognisable one, especially now that her father, Donald Trump, is the US presidential candidate of the Republican party. Ironically, the proceeds of a jewellery purchase made by Ivanka was generously donated to the campaign of her father's rival, Hillary Clinton.

There is no shortage of people that have voiced out their dislike for Donald and his stands, practices and future plans for the US. And yet, there has also been no one that has stuck it to the Trump family as directly and as gracefully as Jill Martinelli and Sabine Le Guyader, the co-founders of Lady Grey.

Lady Grey is a jewellery brand that began in 2009. Since then, Hollywood has taken to the line immensely, with big names like Beyonce and Rihanna wearing pieces for the collection. But when Ivanka made a purchase, Martinelli and Le Guyader decided her money was better suited for a few other things.

Martinelli and Le Guyader wrote a personal note to Ivanka, first and foremost expressing their gratitude for her order. Then the duo let her know that the money was making its way to a few projects that her father would not support -- the American Immigration Council, the Everytown for Gun Safety Organization and the Hillary Clinton campaign.

"The note was included in her package and shipped last week directly from our studio in Brooklyn," Martinelli confirmed to The Cut.

A spokeswoman for Lady Grey sent a statement released to The Huffington Post, sharing that the company was very flattered to receive the order. However, because the company’s beliefs were so different from the Trump campaign, “we instantly felt compelled to take the money and donate it to a few organisations that were more aligned with our ideals."

Lady Grey also expressed that views and opinions in such important matters should definitely be expressed, no matter how small or big the avenue is.
