It seems that Taiwanese phone manufacturer HTC Corporation is finally ready to reveal a Windows version of its flagship phone, HTC One M8. Words have spread over the Internet that the HTC One M8 Windows phone may be launched for Verizon with the moniker HTC One W8.

According to WP Central, the HTC One M8 Windows phone will be released to the U.S. market on Aug. 21 for a price of $610 for off-contract and around $199 for on-contract purchase.

Here are five fresh features to anticipate from the rumoured Windows smartphone.

Updated OS

According to WP Central, the HTC One M8 or W8 Windows phone will come with Windows 8.1 operating system with Update 1. Microsoft accidentally revealed the OS update earlier this week which showcased some small improvements of the Windows 8.1 OS. Given this, smartphone users can expect their gadgets to see information about new apps, select multiple SMS messages to forward to delete, customise alarm snooze settings, improve the Live Tiles for Xbox music and do a lot more on their mobile phones.

Audio Boost

GSM Arena mentioned that HTC One M8 Windows phone will have Nokia's trademark dual BoomSound front speakers. Given the audio boost of the gadget, smartphone users can hear the music, ring tone, alarm, or phone and text sounds from the smartphones louder and clearer than before.

Improved Imaging Capability

The ITechPost stated that HTC One M8 Windows phone will have the ultra-pixel depth-sensing duo lens camera with its 5-MP snapper. With the improved imaging capability of the gadget, smartphone users can expect to have clear and crisp photos every time they pose for snapshots and selfies.

VoLTE Support

GSM Arena also mentioned that HTC One M8 Windows phone will most likely have Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) support which is noticeably absent from its predecessors. With this feature, smartphone users will be able to make phone calls over a 4G connection from their mobile device.

Powerful Package

The ItechPost also stated that HTC One M8 Windows Phone will be powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3 Ghz. It will also have 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. On the outside, the gadget is expected to have 5-inch display with a screen resolution of 1,080 pixels. Given the powerful package, smartphone users will expect the same great performance of the gadget with that of the market-tested HTC One M8 Android phone.

HTC had not made any official statement about the smartphone. But with the rumoured market release on Aug. 21, the wait will not be long.
