Gwyneth Paltrow dishes out the reasons why her past relationships with Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck did not work out. The actress shared that her parents loved Brad Pitt for her but was okay with Ben Affleck and her not ending up together.

The "Mortdecai" star shared her sordid pasts with renowned actors Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck on Howard Stern's SiriusXM radio show on Jan. 14. The actress contemplated what went wrong with her relationships, citing the fact that she was mainly too young to make those relationships work. It could be remembered that Paltrow, now 42, was only in her early 20s when she got engaged to Pitt back in the mid 1990s. The two met on the set of the 1995 thriller "Seven" and their dating history spanned three years after that fateful day. Asked if she was in love with Brad then, she shared that she definitely fell in love with him, since Brad was really "sweet and gorgeous." The actress shared that she was not ready for the relationship, and that Brad was "too good" for her. Her director father, Bruce Paltrow, was very supportive of the relationship, too, and was devastated when they broke up.

When it comes to Ben Affleck, the same problem arose. They have dated from 1997 to 2000. She shared that she was too young then to really know what she wants in a guy. She found Ben "gorgeous" too and said looks were important for her then. She said that having some looking good as a boyfriend "validated" her. She now knows that this is not true. She also said Ben himself was not ready to be in a relationship then. Unlike Brad Pitt, though, Paltrow's parents were okay with them not being together.

She remained cordial and friendly with her exes. She said she and Brad Pitt still talks whenever they see each other but they do not hang out with each other anymore. The actress also talked of her most recent breakup with Chris Martin. Like her earlier exes, she shared the two of them are still friendly with each other. While Paltrow attended the Golden Globes 2015 awarding event, Mail Online UK reported that Chris Martin spent some quality time with their children.
