British boxer Amir Khan is still disappointed that Floyd Mayweather Jr. snubbed him again for a meeting on top of the squared ring. In a recent interview, Khan recalled the time he was supposed to face the undefeated American but the latter instead chose Argentine Marcos Maidana in 2014.

“I remember the time he picked Maidana over me even though I won the votes on the internet and he still didn’t pick me,” Khan said to boxingscene.com.

“At the moment, from everything I see and everything fight fans should realize is that Floyd is a liar. First when he said I’m going to let the fans pick who I fight, he didn’t what he said he was going to do because the fight fans voted and they all voted Amir Khan. And he still picked Maidana, someone who I’ve already beaten, put down and gave him a beating and beat him in a better style that Floyd Mayweather beat him.”

Mayweather Jr. won a pair of fights against Maidana in 2014 both via 12-round decisions while Khan defeated the Argentine boxer way back in 2010 also via a 12-round unanimous decision victory.

The British boxer has since fought unheralded American boxers Luis Collazo, Devon Alexander and Chris Algieri since being snubbed by Mayweather. Khan won all three fights but has yet to land a big-money fight in his career. However, there are reports that Khan may be getting that big payday with rumors that Khan will face Manny Pacquiao in 2016.

The Filipino pugilist is reportedly on the way back to recovery from a shoulder injury and his camp led by Top Rank Promotions president Bob Arum is considering fighting Khan next year in a Middle East country, either in Qatar or the United Arab Emirates.

While Khan may never get a shot at Mayweather Jr., who has stated in recent months that his fight against Andre Berto will be the last in his boxing career, the British boxer may get the next best thing in Pacquiao, who remains one of the top contenders in the division and still one of the most popular boxers in the sport.
