Drew Barrymore is going to take a leave from acting so that she could be a better mom to her two daughters. The actress shared that not having her own parents by her side growing up made her excited to be a more hands-on parent.

In an interview with Savannah Guthrie, the "50 First Dates" star shared that she's going to shift her focus from acting to be parenting. She also said she's excited at the prospect of being a more present mom because she did not have on during her rocky childhood.

"I think I will act less and less...I find the hours at this point in my life too difficult with kids, it's hard to be present when you wake up before them and come home after they've gone to bed," she relayed. She added that she does not want to have such a journey with her kids at this critical point in their lives, when they're young and growing. She said she'll probably change her mind about acting again when the kids are older.

Being a mom to Olive and Frankie, her two daughters would not take a backseat over her profession because of her wild childhood. She shared that from her own experiences, she now wants to be a more traditional mom to her daughters, where she's just there to see her kids grow up. She said her untraditional upbringing makes her crave the opposite now as she becomes a parent herself. She clarifies though that she is not sad about her own childhood as something good came off it.

"It doesn't make me bummed out that I didn't have parents. It's like, thank God that I didn't, because maybe I wouldn't be this aggressively excited about tradition and values and Christmas cards and Halloween costumes...and being so present," she explained. The actress also shared that she and her husband Will Kopelman are not planning for a third baby, but having one would not hurt. Rather, this would make them the "happiest people on Earth. She's not necessarily going to stay at home waiting on her kids though; she's still connecting with her fans and the professional world through her own beauty life, "Flower." She also has a new movie coming up in 2015, which she filmed recently in London, alongside Toni Collette.
