"X-Factor" host, Demi Lovato and "One Direction" cutie, Niall Horan may have not made official announcements about their relationship status but fans can already spot the obvious.

The two have been spotted at the last MTV Video Music Awards and a few dates thereafter which is enough to warrant them being a couple. However, sources say the couple is keeping connections "loose" and "casual."

Months of virtual dating thanks to Skype and Twitter, Demi Lovato and Niall Horan have finally met up in person at Los Angeles thanks to the MTV VMA's. Now the awards show wasn't the only time the two made time for because sources say that right after the VMA's, Niall and Demi had went out for dinner. A dinner date for two is enough to suggest that there is definitely something going on between the two stars. Yet, Lovato was one to clear the rumors herself.

"Demi's told the guys backstage she and Niall are loosely dating, it's casual but they are definitely dating, albeit long-distance," explained the insider.

Niall and Demi have been nothing but honest about their feelings for each other. In fact, Demi has been totally honest in her interviews regarding her feelings for the One Direction band member.

"He has a lot of great qualities. He is an amazing listener and makes me laugh a lot, two of the main qualities I look for," said Lovato, adding, "He knows I have a little crush on him, and we enjoy having dinner when we get the chance. We speak and message all the time. I don't want a relationship over Skype; we are both in a place where we feel zero pressure to rush. We share the philosophy that the right one is worth waiting for."

There are no labels for Demi and Niall's current relationship but fans should be nothing but happy for the two.

"He's a really awesome, sweet guy. But he's not my boyfriend," said Demi in her interview with Teen Vogue.

"I'm in a place right now where I really need to focus on myself. Obviously, I'm still going to like people - or love them - but I need to not be in a relationship for a while because I need to be okay with being alone, first," added Demi.
