On May 20, 2013, "Dancing with the Stars" Season 18 concluded as Candace Cameron Bure and Mark Ballas, Amy Purdy and Derek Hough and Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy competed for one last time for the title shot. It was a "24 Hour Fusion Challenge" to get the last of judges' points, reported Wetpaint. Also, the dancing show was renewed for Season 19.

Meryl Davis and dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy were declared as the winner of "Dancing with the Stars" Season 18. Meanwhile, Amy and Derek grabbed the second spot in the dancing competition.

Meryl and Maksim's team was phenomenal as the pro ice dancer complemented the "Dancing with the Stars" participant beautifully. When the announcement about the winners was made, Meryl did not say anything but turned Maksim and said to him that it was all because of him.

"It's just plastic, but it means so much," said Maksim.

"And when it's lasted a decade of running after, it means so much more, and to do it with Meryl is a dream come true. There's a reason why it didn't happen before. This was meant to happen with this one."

"Dancing with the Stars" Season 18 finale also saw last season's winner Amber Riley. Also, Cody Simpson and rapper Iggy Azalea also performed.

Scores from the final round:

Meryl and Maksim: Foxtrol/Cha-Cha (30 out of 30, 90 finale points).

Amy and Derek: Argentine tango/Cha-Cha (30 out of 30, 89 finale points).

Candace and Mark: Quickstep/Step (27 out of 30, 78 finale points).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC renewed "Dancing with the Stars" for Season 19 on May 9. The network did not announce the premiere date of the new season.

Host Tom Bergeron talked to The Hollywood Reporter about the show's future plans.

"We're up year to year, which is unusual for a show that's so long-term. So I would think we've at least got those two seasons, and we'll see what happens after that."
