The Nine-Nine crew is set to return in two months. A number of guest appearances have been confirmed for the season’s second half, but a regular fan favourite may not make it on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 4, episode 13 (Brooklyn Nine-Nine 4x13).

Spoiler alert: This contains plot details about “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 4. The fourth season premiered Sept. 20. The series is available for Australian viewers to watch on SBS every Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.

Gina Gershon is reportedly set to appear in multiple instalments of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” including the midseason return episode. She is famous for her roles in movies such as “Showgirls,” “Bound,” “Face/Off,” “Demonlover,” “Five Minarets in New York,” and “House of Versace.” She has also appeared on the FX show “Rescue Me,” HBO’s “How to Make It in America,” “Elementary” on CBS, Amazon’s “Red Oaks” and the Syfy series “Z Nation.”

According to TVLine, Gershon is going to play Sergeant Melanie Hawkins, a hard-core police officer who leads NYPD’s most elite task force. Jake (Andy Samberg) and Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz) are said to be “in awe” of Gershon’s character, which leads to both of them competing against one another for an opening on her special unit. Gershon joins the “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 4 guest list that includes Eric Roberts, Maya Rudolph, Marshawn Lynch, Ken Marino, Jim O’Heir and the comedy show’s latest additions Nathan Fillion and Greg Germann.

Nathan Fillion is set to portray Mark Devereaux, the star of “Serve & Protect,” a show similar to “Law & Order.” According to EW, Mark is going to insist on joining Jake and Rosa investigate a crime that occurred on the set of his show, just because he has been playing a detective on TV for ten years. Fillion has also appeared multiple times as the aptly named weather hero Rainer Shine on ABC’s “Modern Family,” including the Feb. 8 episode.

Greg Germann is set to play Gary Lurmax, the executive producer of “Serve & Protect.” Gary is reportedly going to get Jake hooked with the glamour of showbiz. Germann is famous for his award-winning role as Richard Fish on the popular comedy series “Ally McBeal.”

“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” fans were understandably shocked when Gina (Chelsea Peretti) got hit by a bus during the final scene of the midseason finale. Making things more interesting is the fact that executive producer Dan Goor neither confirmed nor denied Gina’s demise when he was asked about it.

“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 4, episode 13 is set to air on April 11 in the US. The midseason return airs April 12 in Australia.
