The social media still can't get over the brutal loss that the host nation Brazil has suffered in its semi-finals match against Germany on July 8 in Belo Horizonte.

In case you missed, the Germans squashed the Brazilian's dream of winning another World Cup trophy. The Germans scored five goals within 30 minutes, four of which were scored only six minutes into the game. Brazil, which is considered as the most successful team in the history of the tournament after winning five World Cup trophies, was torn to pieces by Joachim Low's team with a final score of 7-1. It was reportedly the worst loss that the South American nation has suffered in world football.

Two days later, the Brazilians still mourn over the loss and other soccer enthusiasts still continue to make fun of the Brazilian's humiliating defeat. Twitter users posted digitally altered pictures mocking Brazil's defeat to Germany.

Futbol Bible tweeted a series of memes. One picture shows Neymar holding up a can of 7-Up soda. "Neymar knows the score, #BRA," its caption reads. Another photo shows the popular "Christ the Redeemer" statue crying.

News 24 also shared the photo of "Christ the Redeemer" statue captioning it with "We lost by this much."

Another Twitter user who goes by the handle Septimus Prime shared a picture of Neymar teary-eyed. A snap shot of comedian Kevin Hart was also digitally-altered and shared on social media. A video of a young Brazilian fan crying was also making it rounds online.

The hashtag "NeymarWhileYouWereAway" also began doing the rounds. "#NeymarWhileYouWereAway - The Brazilian team decided to pay tribute to you, since you couldn't play, neither did they," said in a tweet.

The Australian reported that the match between Brazil and German is the most tweeted sporting event ever.

Meanwhile, as the mockery on Twitter is not enough, an Argentine TV show reportedly made fun of Neymar's injury. Argentine TV show called "Showmatch" mocked the Brazilian star striker's injury on national TV, Yahoo Sports reported. The show presented a comedy routine where in a man was dressed as Neymar with Colombian's Juan Zuniga's leg stuck on his back.

Had Neymar's injury occurred an inch higher, he could have been paralysed, Yahoo Sports further reported. Nonetheless, Neymar is expected to recover from the injury without having the need to undergo a surgery.
