Alex Ariza revealed that Manny Pacquiao has “never been afraid of needles,” contrary to Bob Arum’s claim that the Filipino fighter wasn’t game on the idea of conducting random drug testing before a match.

The said test, which involves blood extraction, was the reported hindrance to a deal involving Pacman and Money years ago, with the latter accusing Pacquiao that his great performances inside the ring was a result of taking performance enhancing drugs.

“Four years ago, Manny's not afraid of needles. He's never been afraid of needles. Bob made that shit up to make sure that the first fight didn't happen, so write that,” Ariza told FightHype.com, while attending the politician-athlete’s movie-documentary entitled “Manny” at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

The professional trainer and conditioning coach, who is now on Mayweather’s side after having a stint with Pacquiao in the past, suggested that the undefeated American’s camp is trying to finally get discussions going, but said that counterparts on the opposite end are making it impossible to even begin initial talks.

“Well, you know, they were trying to make it happen, and from my understanding Floyd agreed to meet Manny and then suddenly Michael Koncz came back and said they want a written letter of commitment that he (Mayweather) is gonna show,” he added.

“It’s always something. Unfortunately, it’s the fans that’s suffering.”

Meanwhile, Ariza went on to defend Mayweather’s not-as-entertaining style of avoiding a slugfest and rely more on tactics, but warned that the 37-year-old is not one-dimensional as everybody thinks he is.

“Floyd is really an exceptional athlete. I think everybody thinks that that’s his one style – the way he’s been fighting – but when you go to the gym and you see him fight the way he fights the other guys, you get to see what plan B looks like,” he disclosed.

“He’s in the business of not getting hit and I get it, but I love his plan B.”
