The season finale of “The Blacklist” Season 2 is set to tell what happened on the night of the fire. In addition to that, some details about Liz and Red’s relationship are going to be revealed. Also the episode may put Tom Keen and Liz’s relationship on the rebuilding track, according to the latest spoiler report.

“We're going to get a big answer about what happened that night of the fire... and some truths about the nature of her relationship with Red,” Jon Bokenkamp, creator of “The Blacklist,” said to TV Guide while speaking about “The Blacklist” Season 2 final episode.

The night of the fire holds the answer to how Red is related to Liz, as he was at her house that night. If Liz is able to remember the events of that night, she may figure out why Red has embedded himself in her life. As Red and Liz’s relationship mystery is one of main mysteries of the series, it is unlikely that the episode will provide all the answers related to that.

Also in the season finale episode, Red and Liz will find themselves in a “desperate situation,” which is nothing new for the duo. They will land in such a situation because the blacklister of the episode has a connection to the powerful, evil Cabal, which makes the situation not only desperate but also highly dangerous.

According to TV Guide, most of Tom’s secrets will come out in open, which could make him and Liz come closer again. Bokenkamp thinks that Tom would like “nothing more than to go on a date and have a glass of wine and have a nice, normal conversation.” He said that Liz knows that her ex-fake-husband is “screwed up” and that he is “unhealthy” for her but “there's something within him that perhaps she thinks is a glimmer of hope."

“The Blacklist” Season 2 finale is scheduled to air on May 14. NBC has already renewed the show for Season 3. According to TV Guide’s report, one of the Season 2 finale twists will lay the foundation for “The Blacklist” Season 3.
