September and October saw many devices getting released from different OEMs and the BlackBerry Passport is one such device. Notably, the Passport is hailed for its unique and risky square design, combined with the retro physical QWERTY keyboard that doubles as a trackpad. But it is time to let the Passport go though a torture test to see how it copes. Quite interestingly, various tests that are being endured by smartphones and tablets include blender test, fire, liquid nitrogen, bat test and many more.

Recently, the BlackBerry Passport's durability was evaluated in a torture test. Going by the video, the phablet comes out with a bang, enduring the torture and showcasing extreme durability, according to Phone Arena. However, the device gets decimated in an unusual test scenario. This time around, insanely, the tester used a hammer to bang the front-screen of the Passport to destroy it, in and out. What happened to the device after this torture is something readers should watch and enjoy. [Scroll down to watch the video.]

Speaking of durability, the handset is initially thrown at a baseball field and it survives. Later, the same device goes through a 20-feet drop over rocks. In this case, the device falls rear-side first but it stays functional. On the other hand, the phablet is dropped 20 feet down the same rocky area yet again, but this time, it lands face-down. As anyone would have guessed, the phone's display glass gets cracked, but even with a cracked glass, the BlackBerry Passport works pretty well. However, the test doesn't stop here; instead, it goes on to prove the Passport is easily one of the strongest devices ever made.

Meanwhile, BlackBerry, under the leadership of CEO John Chen has taken a mind-full approach in not manufacturing the device without evaluating the demand. Hence, the company produced only 200,000 Passport units. Needless to say, when the pre-order window opened, all the units were purchased within hours. Marketed as the business device, the Passport is truly an enterprise crowd puller. The key features include a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display, 1,440 x 1,440 pixels resolution, a killer 3450 mAh battery unit, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable storage, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and lastly, BlackBerry's latest 10.3 OS.
