“Avengers: Age of Ultron” may feature more superheroes aside from the usual Avengers team with the addition of the Maximoff twins and Vision. It may reportedly be the introduction for some Marvel characters who have their solo film lined up for them such as Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange.

Movie director Joss Whedon once teased the presence of additional superhero characters in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” during an interview with Marvel Entertainment. When asked by host Lorraine Cink whether viewers will be seeing “other Marvel characters that aren’t yet in the preview photos” but are in future films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Whedon replied with a definitive “yes.” (See video below at the 2:31 time mark).

May 1 may see the introduction of Black Panther before his solo film on Nov. 3, 2017. According to Cinema Blend, the end credits scene in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” may feature Chadwick Boseman donning his T’Challa a.k.a. Black Panther costume, although it’s been reported that the character will have a cameo appearance in “Captain America: Civil War.” But with speculations hinting that by the end of the sequel the original Avengers team will disband and form a new one, it’s supposedly possible for the Wakanda leader to be among the members of the new team so he could already establish a relationship with Iron Man and Captain America before he debuts in “Civil War.”

Aside from Black Panther, Joss Whedon once teased the presence of another female character in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” during an interview with Hey U Guys. "There are four prominent female roles in the centre of the movie,” he said (see video below at the 1:33 time mark). So far only three confirmed women characters are in the sequel including Black Widow, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill and Scarlet Witch. The fourth is still a mystery, although speculations have been pointing at Captain Marvel, especially when Whedon said during the interview that he also likes the character. However, whether the sequel will have a cameo appearance of a civilian Carol Danvers or her superhero alter-ego as member of the rumoured new Avengers team is still unknown.

The presence of Doctor Strange has been teased in several scenes in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” In the first trailer, the presence of the gurney and some surgical equipment supposedly hint the Sorcerer Supreme’s involvement in the sequel, according to Inquisitr, since it symbolises the character’s profession as a surgeon. Likewise, the presence of what seemed like an abandoned mansion atop a mountain is said to represent Doctor Strange’s place of refuge. The character could reportedly have a cameo appearance at the post-credit scene in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” along with Black Panther and Captain Marvel before his solo movie in 2016.
