Australia's Woodstock, Soundwave Music Festival 2014 Lineup Announced (Video Preview)

Soundwave is sort of like Australia's Woodstock. Organizers of the music megafestival has completed its list of bands for next year. Here's a preview of what's around the corner for Soundwave 2014

Sondwave began in Perth, Western Australia and began its tour of Australian capital cities by 2007.

Although tentative lists of bands leaked before the August 23^rd deadline, a new updated list for the music festival has emerged on Web sites:

The official list of the line up was released, disbanding anxious fans waiting eagerly for the news. Soundwave has a facebook site that lists the latest news and lineups.

The formal list of music bands for the Soundwave festival 2014 edition was announced by AJ Maddah via Twitter. Mr. Maddah was labelled the Australian music industry's most powerful person by the Australasian Music Industry Directory (AMID's) Power 50 list by theMusic.com.au.

He was quoted by fasterlouder.com as saying, "To be perfectly honest I am shocked and a little bit uncomfortable." "I'm still learning on the job and taking lessons from masters..."

Maddah continued to say, "It is never a good time to be a festival promoter in Australia," he said. "The dollar is wobbly, competition for artists is fierce and the conditions imposed by local and state governments are by far the most oppressive of any in the civilised world."

Some of the kick-starters for Australia's greatest music festival include Alice In Chains, Green Day, Stone Temple Pilots, Rob Zombie, and Megadeth along with industrial legends Nine, Inch Nails.

Major bands performing at the festival fall into the heavy metal, rock and punk categories. Soundwave is highlighted by performances by Australian bands' Metallica, System of a Down,Faith No More, Nine Inch Nails, The Offspring, Iron Maiden, Deftones and Slipknot,

Soundwave, Australia's most anticipated musical show is operated by Soundwave Touring, which also runs Harvest Festival and tours for musicians and bands.

The 2013 edition lineup for Soundwave featured artists such as Metallica, Cypress Hill, Blink-182,Linkin Park and 'not-so-famous' artists Garbage, The Offspring, A Perfect Circle, Paramore,Tomahawk, and Killswitch Engage.

The locales for the 2014 show are Claremont Showgrounds, Perth, 3 March 2014, Bonython Park, Adelaide, 1 March 2014, Flemington Racecourse, Melbourne, 28 February 2014, Olympic Park, Sydney, 23 February 2014, and RNA Showgrounds, Brisbane, 22 February 2014.
