The Asus ZenFone Live is the latest smartphone to be unveiled and it aims to tap into the selfie rage. Asus has described this entry-level handset as “the world's first smartphone with hardware-optimized, real-time beautification technology.” Even though the smartphone is mostly targeted to budget shoppers, it still impresses with a few tricks up its sleeves. Asus says that the phone will enable users to share an even more glamorous version of them live, via its BeautyLive app.

According to Asus, the BeautyLive app on ZenFone Live performs its magic on the spot and not after the photo or video is taken. It does not require edits after snapping a photo. The app can perform a plethora of actions, such as, smoothening out skin, removing blemishes and even applying certain tricks real-time to ensure that the user or the subject of the photo looks best when shared. Moreover, the BeautyLive app makes sharing a breeze as it is integrated with YouTube, Facebook and many other social media apps.

The Asus ZenFone Live is available in three colour variants, namely, Rose Pink, Navy Black and Shimmer Gold. It also sports a sleek metal body design. The three capacitive keys are placed below the display, the volume rocker and power/lock button on the right and the Asus logo on the back. The three capacitive keys are back, home and multitasking/overview. Asus has not divulged information on the price and availability of the smartphone. Selfie lovers are surely going to consider this handset when buying a new one due to its beautification feature.

According to Tech Times, Asus is also expected to unveil the ZenFone 3 Go during the MWC 2017. The ZenFone Live sports a 5-inch IPS HD display (1,280 x 720 pixels) with 2.5D curved glass, 2,650 mAh battery, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 16 GB/32 GB of native storage space, microSD card slot for memory expansion and a 2GB RAM. There are two nano-SIM card slots, dual microphones and 3.5mm headphone jack. It will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the ZenUI 3.5 on top.

In terms of camera performance, the Asus ZenFone Live will perform really well, as that is the main purpose of the smartphone. It has a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, Auto Focus and LED flash. The selfie camera is of 5MP with f/2.2 aperture, 1.4 um pixel size, LED flash and Auto Focus. The various PixelMaster Camera modes is provided on the Asus website.
