Apple iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus – 10 new amazing features that makes them better than iPhone 6, 6 Plus
Apple has officially announced the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus to replace the older iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. The new iPhone 6S models were unveiled on Sept. 9 alongside other Apple products like the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, the iPad Mini 4, the Apple TV and more.
Outwardly, the new iPhones do not appear very different from last year. However, internally Apple has brought several improvements to the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus. Here is a list of new features that are available on both the new iPhone 6S models:
3D Touch Display
The 3D Touch feature allows the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus to distinguish between lighter and harder press on the display. According to the pressure of the taps, it can show a menu of available options, GSM Arena reported.
Stronger Chassis
The new iPhones sport stronger 7000 series aluminum chassis. Hence, the 6S and the 6S Plus will not suffer from bendgate issues.
Apple A9 Chipset
As rumours suggested, the new iPhones are powered by A9 SoC. It delivers improves performance of the handsets by 70 percent and offers 90 percent more graphics power.
Improved Touch ID
The new iPhone 6S handsets come with second generation Touch ID sensors. Mac Rumors reports that it is twice faster than the Touch ID sensors available on older iPhones like iPhone 6S, iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S.
Always-On Siri
The new iPhones feature Motion M9 co-processor. Hence, the Siri voice assistant now functions as a always-on app.
12 MP Camera And 4K Video Recording
Apple has upgraded the rear camera on both iPhone 6S models to feature 12 MP lens. The new camera can snap stunning photos in low-lighting conditions. It not only supports 4K video capturing but also slow motion video capturing at 1080 pixels. The iMovie app allows users to even edit their 4K resolution videos.
5 MP Frontal Camera
Both the handsets now feature 5 MP selfie cameras. The unique Retina Flash feature brightens the display by threefold to function as a flash while using the frontal camera, Slash Gear reported.
Live Screen Wallpapers
Previous iPhones support still photos as wallpaper. However, the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus supports animated live screen wallpapers.
Better Connectivity
The new iPhones are equipped with 866 Mbps 802.11 ac Wi-Fi. The new LTE Advanced chip on both handsets will enable user to achieve max download speeds of 300 Mbps. It supports 23 LTE bands, Gizmodo reported.
Pink Colour
Apple has finally introduced a new colour scheme for the newly launched iPhone 6S models. Both handsets are available in pink, space gray, silver and gold colors.
