In her first appearance post her surgery Angelina Jolie came to attend the 2015 Kids’ Choice Awards at Los Angeles on March 28. The Hollywood actress’s special date was her two kids, Zahara, 10 and Shiloh, eight. The 39-year-old looked chic in a black dress, according to E Online.

Angelina wore a black dress with a V neckline and a gold metal ring that served as a halter-neck for the dress. She teamed up the dress with gold bracelets and small studs for her ears and sky-high stilettos that gave her a simple and classy look. The gold metal ring works well for the dress as it is dual purpose and also very practical. Apart from holding the dress together, it also eliminates the need to wear a necklace. Jolie hair was back brushed, while she used very little make-up. She wore some black eyeliner, neutral hued eyeshadow, some false eyelashes while her lips were kept nude lip which gave her a natural look.

The actress lost the Favourite Movie actress award to Emma Stone but still walked away with the Favourite Villain award for “Maleficent.” Though her youngest daughter, Vivienne, acted opposite her mother as the young Aurora in the Disney movie, she didn’t come to the awards ceremony. The mother-daughters were all smiles as they enjoyed Iggy Azalea, Nick Jonas, Jennifer Hudson and 5 Seconds of Summer perform at the awards function.

This is Angelina’s first appearance since she revealed that she got her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed in a cancer prevention surgery when her doctor detected possible signs of early cancer. Last week the actress wrote a personal op-ed in New York Times. “I went through what I imagine thousands of other women have felt. I told myself to stay calm, to be strong, and that I had no reason to think I wouldn't live to see my children grow up and to meet my grandchildren,” the Academy Award winner wrote. She got huge support for her brave story from celebrities who tweeted their support for the star, besides being praised by many doctors too.
