After news leaked about the Android Marshmallow update to the Galaxy smartphones, we now have reports of a timeline for the rollout. The first phase will include the Note S6, S6 Edge+, Note 5, Note 4, Galaxy Alpha and Note Edge. On the other hand, the Alpha and S5 have yet to get approvals.

Samsung said the S6 Edge+ and Note 5 will be the first to be updated in December while the S6 and S6 Edge smartphones will get the new OS in January 2016, reports ibtimes.co.uk.

Updates for the Note 4 and Note Edge, the curved screen variants, are slated for a February 2016 release. While the handsets in first phase are waiting in the queue for their updates, Samsung has said the other phone models in the second phase are scheduled to get updates soon.

The Galaxy A, or the A8, A7, A5, along with the Galaxy E series (E7 and E5) have yet to get approval for the update but their dates of availability aren’t known. Updates for the rest of the Galaxy models will be declared in the third phase and will get the updates after preliminary testing.

Android Marshmallow 6.0 is highly regarded for having exclusive features never seen in previous OS’. Doze is new to the OS and is defined as an intelligent battery saving technology being applied for the first time. The feature automatically idles and shuts down a phone when this isn’t being used, allowing more standby time, reports Phone Arena.

Google On Tap adds to the credibility of the OS by allowing users access to related text results. Besides, Marshmallow gives you permission to accept terms and conditions of all apps at one go, but with conditions applied.
