The Latest news from Motorola confirms that the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Motorola Droid Turbo, Moto X and Moto G will directly be rolled out to the users, instead of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. It is worth noting that, the Android 5.1 is reportedly the latest and absolute version of Google’s OS. Plus, the Nexus 6 will reportedly receive a second round of Android 5.1 Lollipop update.

Android 5.1 Lollipop Update For Motorola Droid Turbo, Moto X, Moto G

According to Luciano Carvalho, a software engineer at Motorola, a bug-free version of Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Motorola Droid Turbo, Moto G and Moto X will be released. Apparently, Carvalho used his Google+ account to let this information out.

In any case, GSM Arena notes that, the Droid Turbo users may have to wait a tad longer to get the update. This is because Google has only recently started sending out Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Nexus devices. However, all the Nexus devices and models have not received the update yet.

Also the party responsible for rolling out the Android 5.1 Lollipop update to Motorola Droid Turbo that comes with KitKat on board is apparently Verizon. To be specific, the carrier reportedly wants VoLTE (HD Voice) support for the Droid Turbo device and Android 5.1 has the capability to provide the required support natively. Therefore, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Motorola Droid Turbo will reportedly be skipped to give way to Android 5.1.

Android 5.1 Lollipop Update For Nexus 6

GSM Arena says, very recently Google made the Android 5.1 Lollipop update official. And as one would expect, the Nexus devices are the first ones to receive this new update. Notably, the new Lollipop update brings in several improvements, new features like the HD voice call support and silent mode, to name a few. And the Nexus 6 was one of the few devices to receive this update. However, now a new factory image apparently proves that another Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Nexus 6 is in progress.

Based on Google’s developers change log, the new build (LMY47E) does not bring in any over-the-top changes because it carries an identical version number similar to the original version (LMY47D). The LMY47E build apparently shows a new version of the radio drivers. This means, the new build consists of some tweaks and alterations to the connectivity like cellular and Wi-Fi, among others, notes the same site.
