Here goes the Idol Top 9 song list and Janelle Monae! "American Idol" 2014 judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. had been very clear that they wanted more from the idol hopefuls since performances had started to dwindle and fall short of proper delivery in the previous weeks. Will the Top 9 finally satisfy America and the judges with Wednesday night's performance?

In case you miss March 26 Wednesday's updates, the Top 9 performed with Finals Week 5 theme "I'm with the Band." The remaining idol hopefuls acted as lead singers for Rickey Minor and his band.

For Finals Week 5, the producers of American Idol had given the Top 9 contestants another chance, same with the previous weeks, to pick their own songs. Favorite songs or not, the idol hopefuls were expected to give their all to their performances.

On Thursday, March 27, Janelle Monae will be performing live on the idol stage with her new single "What is Love," which, according to billboard.com, is included in the soundtrack of upcoming animated musical adventure-comedy movie "Rio 2."

According to a report from Huffington Post, Monae might just be your new favourite singer. If you haven't heard from her until one of the idol hopefuls Majesty Rose York sang her song "Tightrope" on the idol stage, Janelle Monae has already been nominated for six Grammys and has appeared on the no.1 hit single "We Are Young" by Fun.

Here is the complete list of what the Top 9 contestants sung for Finals Week 5:

1. Jessica Meuse - "Rhiannon" by Fleetwood Mac

2. Majesty Rose York - "Shake It Out" by Florence And The Machine

3. Caleb Johnson - "Dazed And Confused" by Jake Holmes / Led Zeppelin

4. Dexter Roberts - "Boondocks" by Little Big Town

5. Malaya Watson - "The Long And Winding Road" by The Beatles

6. Jena Irene Asciutto - "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence & Paul McCoy

7. Sam Woolf - "Hey There Delilah" by Plain White T's

8. CJ Harris - "If It Hadn't Been For Love" by The SteelDrivers
