Speculations run for months that British singer Adele will sing the theme song for the new Bond film. The news was confirmed when she posted a photo of the "Skyfall" score on her Twitter account.

The "Someone Like You" singer finally revealed on Monday through her Twitter account that she will be singing the theme song for "Skyfall." The picture must have been taken from a recording studio while Adele places her hand over the "Skyfall" music sheet.

According to the paper, Adele wrote the song alongside Paul Epworth who also co-wrote and produced her highly successful track, "Rolling In The Deep." After the female singer read the script for the Bond movie, she sought the help of Epworth to co-write the theme song.

Adele admits that she felt a lot of pressure on being given such task. But after she fell in love with the script of the film, she said that thoughts came in easily and Paul added great ideas for the track.

"It was also a lot of fun writing to a brief, something I've never done which made it exciting. When we recorded the strings, it was one of the proudest moments of my life. I'll be back combing my hair when I'm 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day I'm sure!" Adele said.

The "Skyfall" theme song was recorded at the Abbey Road Studios in London and was accompanied by a 77-piece orchestra. The new James Bond movie will again star Daniel Craig and will have its premier next month.

Adele joins the line of several musicians who have performed the themes songs for the other James Bond films. The list includes Alicia Keys who sang the song for "Quantum of Solace" and Chris Cornell for "Casino Royale."

Adding up to the confirmation, it was rumored last week that the title of the song for this year's Bond film would be, "Let The Sky Fall." As stated from the website Showbiz 411, the theme song is due for release this week and contains lyrics that goes something like, "Let the sky fall/Let it crumble/We will stand tall/And face it all/together."

"This is the end/Hold your breath and count to ten/Feel the Earth move and then/Hear my heart burst again," the song continues.

Apart from being given the chance to perform the song for a James Bond film, Adele is also expecting her first child with her boyfriend Simon Konecki.

Meanwhile, "Skyfall" will be Daniel Craig's third starring movie as James Bond. The action movie will be directed by Sam Mendes and Javier Bardem will play the film's villain. The 007 movie will have its premier in London on October 23 before it officially premiers on October 26. "Skyfall" will hit the Australian cinemas on November 22.
