Masters Open winner Adam Scott is still in contention to win his second Grand Slam of the Year after shooting a 70 in the third round of the 2013 British Open at Muirfield Golf Links in Scotland.

Scott, who blew a three-shot lead going into the last four holes at Akron in 2012, admitted the memory of 2012's collapse is haunting him at the Open championship.

"Yeah, I think honestly I haven't flashed back since Akron last year," Scott told the Telegraph.

Nevertheless, Scott is determined to conquer the playing field this time around with just 18 holes remaining to play on an extremely difficult layout at Muirfield.

"I haven't thought about the entirety of it all. I thought it was best not to. Just take the couple of bits that I wanted, and leave it as an experience. And the way I remember it is only as a great week. So I'm done with that," said Scott, who's currently three strokes behind clubhouse leader Lee Westwood (3-under par).

Tiger Woods and Hunter Mahan are tied at second place, entering Sunday's championship round.
