In the year 2016 quite a few new range of smartphones will see the light of the day. With new innovations and surprises, the devices are getting ready to enthrall smartphone lovers around the world.

Apple iPhone 7

Apple’s new flagship is expected to be announced by September 2016. The device will reportedly feature a super thin design, a new waterproof top-to-bottom display without the Home Button, latest A10 chipset, bigger memory, eSIM and hopefully a longer battery life. Apple is also rumoured to come up with its 4-inch iPhone 6c in 2016.

Samsung Galaxy S7

Samsung is expected to announce the next Galaxy S7 in February at the MWC 2016 or hold a separate Galaxy Unpacked event before that. Expected to be unveiled in two variants – Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, the device will sport curved edges from all the sides.

With touch-sensitive Clear Touch display, different processors in various markets, 4 GB of RAM with expandable native storage highly appreciated 23 MP IMX300 sensor made by Sony, the smartphone will be one of the most coveted devices of 2016.

Sony Xperia Z6

Sony is predicted to come up with a high-end flagship device with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 chipset. The new device is also likely to support a USB Type C port, probably run on Android 6.0 and feature a microSD card for memory expansion.

Xiaomi Mi5

After rounds of speculations finally the Xiaomi Mi5 is slated to release in January 2016. Powered by the Snapdragon 820 chipset, the Xiaomi Mi5 will be shipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Featuring a 5.2-inch display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4, the handset is expected to sport a fingerprint scanner, Type C USB port, a healthy 4 GB of RAM and 3,000 mAh battery.

LG G5

This could be the most secure smartphone ever launched. LG is allegedly working in tandem with IRIENCE, a biometric specialist based in South Korea to develop a unique iris scanning technology for the device. The device will purportedly feature a 4K display with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. Powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with an upgraded X12 LTE modem, the smartphone will be equipped to support LG’s new payment system G Pay.

Nextbit Robin

With a unique storage management approach, Nextbit Robin will surely change the concept of cloud storage in 2016. The smartphone automatically adapts to the storage needs of the user. Optimising the space of the device, it keeps the most important data on the phone and allows the user to save everything else on the cloud.

Backed by Kickstarter, Robin is the brain child of big shots in the mobile space. The smartphone may go on general sale internationally by the first quarter of next year, reports Pocket Lint.
