11-12-13 Wedding: Lucky or Not?
Iconic dates have become a trend not just in United States but in all parts of the world, and now the famous 11-12-13 (Nov. 11, 2013) is making waves in the wedding industry. According to Brian Beitler, chief marketing for David's Bridal, there are 65,000 couple who tied the knot on 07-07-07, and since couples love sequential dates.
Beitler has estimated that more than 3,000 brides will be walking down the aisle on that iconic day, compared to the 371 weddings that took place on the second Tuesday in Nov. last year. According to a study made by David's Bridal, 40 percent of brides prefer to plan their wedding on consecutive numbers, and to mention the date is numerically attractive.
It's no doubt that the new century has brought many interesting dates, the next time 11-12-13 will happen is one hundred years from now and the next sequential date this decade will be next year, and it will happen on 12-13-14. Because of the uniqueness of 11-12-13, some math geeks tweeted that in 9:10 AM the Google campus will probably be insufferable and even some retailers took the opportunity to have special sales.
When it comes to date meaning, numerology is a mystical belief that numbers holds special meaning and a possibility of divination of significant events. For most numerologist, double numbers - such as 11 and 22 - hold significant meanings in Viking Runes, the Kabbalah, and the I Ching, not to mention the endless studies on such unlucky number like the 666 (sign of the Beast), 13 in Western culture and 4 in Chinese culture.
While some people mark the dates such as 11-12-13 to test their luck in lottery, others are gambling to say "I Do" and the people who got married last Tuesday increased in 722 percent compare from the same Tuesday last year. Weather the date is lucky or it is easy to remember for most couples who usually forgot special dates, the iconic date surely spike up the wedding rate this year.
Because of this hype, venue prices triple their rates and capitalize on special dates because they know that couples will go an extra mile just make the day special. For most couples, the date only happen once in their life time, like their wedding so it's lucky enough for them.
