The new Xiaomi Mi Note Pro was launched in January, whereas the brilliant Motorola Nexus 6 was released in November 2014. Readers who are interested in purchasing the incredible Nexus 6 or the power-packed Xiaomi Mi Note Pro should check out this comparison of specifications, features and prices.

Xiaomi Mi Note Pro vs. Nexus 6: Display, Size And Design

The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro features a humongous 5.7-inch IPS LCD display and a killer 1,440 x 2,560 pixels screen resolution. Notably, this translates to a pixel density of 515 ppi. The 2015 flagship Nexus 6, on the other hand, comes with a relatively bigger 5.96-inch AMOLED screen, bundled with the same 2K/Quad HD resolution seen in the Xiaomi device. And this display details translate to a pixel density of 493 ppi. As a rule of thumb, the higher the pixel density, the screen looks sharper and clearer to offer brilliant viewing experience. Therefore, the Xiaomi device trumps the Nexus handset in the display department.

When it comes to design, the Xiaomi handset reportedly comes with an “all glass and metal trim design.” The Chinese tech giant has seemingly used 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 on the display and a 3D Gorilla Glass 3 on the rear panel of phone. To top it off, a metal frame seamlessly ties the aforementioned front and back glass panels together. And moreover, the glass fixture on the rear panel is slightly rounded on the edges. Overall, the Xiaomi device looks smooth, rounded and refined providing premium-look to the phone and therefore, it is easy to hold, writes Android Headlines.

On the other hand, the Nexus 6 looks a lot like the Motorola Moto X from 2014. In addition to featuring the same plastic/polycarbonate exterior, there is a metal-frame bordering the corners of the handset, guaranteeing premium-look. Also it is worth noting that, there are two brilliant front-facing speakers to magnify the effect of the housed sound system, notes Phone Arena.

Speaking of size, the thickness and weight of the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro are 0.28-inch and 161 g respectively, whereas the Nexus 6 is 0.40-inch thick and weighs 184 g. It is evident that, the Xiaomi device is extremely light and thin when compared to the Motorola powerhouse.

Xiaomi Mi Note Pro vs. Nexus 6: Hardware, Software And Memory

The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro is powered by a 64-bit, octa-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 810) SoC, whereas the Nexus 6 is powered by a relatively inferior quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 805) processor. While the Motorola device is backed by a good 3 GB of RAM, the Xiaomi smartphone comes with a mind-blowing 4 GB of RAM configuration.

From the software side, the Nexus handset runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, whereas the Note Pro runs on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop with MIUI. Furthermore, the Xiaomi handset provides 64 GB of internal storage space. The Motorola device, on the other hand, comes with 32 GB and 64 GB of built-in storage choices. In any case, both the phones do not support expandable storage.

Xiaomi Mi Note Pro vs. Nexus 6: Camera And Battery

Both the handsets feature a solid 13 MP rear-facing camera unit with dual-LED flash, optical image stabilisation (OIS) and HDR. Additionally, there is a 4 MP front-facing shooter in the Mi Note Pro, while the Nexus 6 settles for a 2 MP snapper. When it comes to the battery configuration, the Nexus 6 comes equipped with a non-removable Li-Po 3,220 mAh unit, while the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro features a Li-Ion 3,000 mAh non-removable unit.

Xiaomi Mi Note Pro vs. Nexus 6: Additional Features

1. While the Motorola handset supports wireless charging option, the Note Pro supports fast charging feature with the help of Quick Charge 2.0 technology. Aside from the standard connectivity options, both the devices support LTE. Besides, the Nexus 6 supports NFC as well. On the other hand, the Mi Note Pro is a dual-SIM device, while the Nexus 6 supports single-SIM.

2. The Nexus 6 does not feature either a water- or dust-proof exterior and hence, there’s no IP 67 certification. However, to compensate this, Motorola has furnished a water-resistive coating. Thus, the handset can overcome accidental water splashes. But then, leaving the device underwater for longer period of time could damage the device perennially, according to Phone Arena. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi handset does not come with the said feature.

Xiaomi Mi Note Pro vs. Nexus 6: Price And Release Date

Speaking of Xiaomi Mi Note Pro price, the phone will reportedly set the buyers back by 3,299 yuan that roughly translates to $526. On the other hand, the Nexus 6 price under AT&T is reported to be $682.99 in the U.S. Furthermore, the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro release date is reportedly set for end of March, writes PC Advisor.
