As fans of “X Factor Australia” 2016 catch their breath after a jaw-dropping elimination in the previous episode, the hit reality show returns on Sunday with another shocking bombshell.

In another live episode, the top eight will step on the stage brandishing their new looks. Judges Adam Lambert, Guy Sebastian, Iggy Azalea and Mel B have been busy these past few days perfecting their team’s makeovers. Still running for this year’s title are: Amalia Foy and Isaiah Firebrace (Adam’s Under 22s); AYA and Brentwood (Iggy’s Groups), Davey Woder and Chynna Taylor (Guy’s Over 22s); and Vlado Saric and Beatz (Mel B’s Underdogs).

In a teaser video posted on the official Facebook page of “X Factor Australia,” Beatz members Brooke and Elishia share that they’re in a salon getting their hair done. “[It’s] very exciting, so we hope you’re going to love it,” the girls say. “It’s going to be a real big change.” They then seem to wonder the whereabouts of Tayla, Brooke’s younger sister. “Maybe there’s no third member from now on,” they tease. “Maybe we don’t have a rapper anymore.” They were quick to clarify, that they’re only kidding -- it seems like Tayla is the first one to undergo a makeover.

Beatz is certainly savouring their spot in the competition after Mel B brought them back and took them in her wings. Iggy previously dissed the girl group during the three seat challenge, swapping them with another female trio, AYA.

Beatz made quite an impression after nailing Arianna Grande’s “Problem,” including Iggy’s rap. At the first live show, the girls sang “Sax” by “X Factor UK” alumni Fleur East, which earned a standing ovation from their mentor. Iggy loved their new style, while Adam commented that they looked like pop stars.

Also in the salon this week is Guy’s prized singer Chynna, who admits that she’s extremely nervous about the makeover. “I don’t know what they have in store… Guy’s been dropping hints, so we’ll have to see,” the Texas-born powerhouse performer muses in a clip on the show’s Facebook page. She then appeared to convince the viewers – and herself – that she’s excited about what’s in store for her.

Chynna seems to have nothing to worry about – her almost perfect performances are what brought her to this year’s top eight. During the last live episode, she gave an astounding yet effortless rendition of “Open Arms” by Journey. She got a standing ovation from her mentor and Adam. Iggy even gave a fearless prediction that Chynna could win all the way.

Meanwhile, fans wonder whether Chynna will be the singer to put her spin on Madonna on the upcoming episode. “X Factor Australia” teased on their Facebook page that one act would perform one of Madonna’s songs and lets the fans guess among Chynna, Amalia, Vlado and Isaiah.
