Whenever a team wins over a highly favoured opponent, their head coach is usually given a shower of Gatorade.

This is what happened when the Ole Miss Rebels won over the AP #6 Louisiana State (LSU) Tigers at Vauhgt-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi in a Southern rivalry called the "Magnolia Bowl."

The Ole Miss Rebels were ranked as high as #21 after beating Big 12 opponent Texas in Week 3. But Ole Miss fell off the Associated Press rankings as early as Week 6 when they lost to #1 Alabama, unranked Auburn, and #9 Texas A&M in quick succession. At 2-3 in SEC play and 4-3 overall, they were not given much of a chance to beat LSU which were coming off a victory at home against #17 Florida.

However, the Rebels jumped to a 10-0 lead in the first two quarters and tied LSU for third-quarter points with 14 apiece. Even though LSU were able to eventually draw even in the fourth quarter, that was about as close as they could get as Ole Miss place kicker Andrew Ritter scored on a 41-yard field goal in the final seconds. Ole Miss held off the kickoff return and the team -- and fans rushed on to the field.

At that point, one would usually expect a freezing-cold Gatorade shower for the Ole Miss coach, who is actually named Hugh Freeze. Coach Freeze went to the other bench to shake hands and exchange pleasantries with LSU coach Les Miles. Apparently, two Ole Miss linemen didn't get the "I'll be shaking hands with the coach" memo, so went they broke open a chest full of lemon Gatorade and started looking for their coach, hilarity ensued.

However, not all Gatorade showers end in ecstatic crowds. In 2002, the Kentucky Wildcats prematurely celebrated what seemed to be an upset victory over then-#14 LSU with a Gatorade Shower when LSU's Devery Henderson suddenly broke free for a game-winning touchdown in what is called the "Bluegrass Miracle."
