Ultimate Fighting Championship, or UFC, reigning women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey firmly believes that it would be a bad idea for her to fight a man despite her recent run of success in the Octagon. The 28-year-old judoka said she would never consider the proposition because such fight might send the wrong signal.

"I don't think it's a great idea to have a man hitting a woman on television," Rousey told The Daily Beast last Wednesday. "I'll never say that I'll lose, but you could have a girl getting totally beat up on TV by a guy -- which is a bad image to put across.”

The 28-year-old movie star added that with all the domestic violence prevalent with football players, it would not be a good idea to publicly show a man and a woman going at it in a sanctioned bout. She recently addressed the comments of UFC commentator Joe Rogan who proclaimed that Rousey can even come up victorious against 50 per cent of the male bantamweight talents in the outfit by saying that in theory she could beat most of them but would not go the full length of proving the proposition.

With Rousey again easily dispatching contender Cat Zingano in a title record time of 14 seconds, the UFC is running out of options to pair the biggest star of the promotional outfit. Brazilians Bethe Correia and Cris “Cyborg” Justino have all willing engaged in talks to face the queen bee of the UFC, but nothing has been set in stone. Justino has been the juicier prospect given the long standing rivalry between the two women fighters but issues with performance enhancing drugs and agreed weight have proven to be huge obstacles.

Rousey’s dominance in the mixed martial arts world has several admirers and observers placing her in a fantasy match against great fighters. Just recently, Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao declared that Rousey will handily give American Floyd Mayweather, Jr. a beat down in the ring and that she is well equipped to handle her own against the reigning pound-for-pound undefeated boxer. Pacman said that Rousey is strong enough to beat Mayweather in MMA.
