With Good Friday and Easter Sunday coming up, the Sydney Royal Easter Show is already in full-swing despite reports that the event is facing slumping revenues and a declining show attendance rate.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the number of attendees in 2015 fell to a 15-year low of 749,000 due to wet weather conditions, which contributed to a $1.7 million loss.

Last year also saw a decline in ticket sales because for the first time, railway stations did not sell tickets, which led to long queues at Sydney Olympic park.

This prompted show organisers, the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW, to cut staff numbers from 145 to 130 in 2016.

However, the world’s sixth largest event, set to run until Mar. 30 at the Sydney Olympic Park, is keeping its head up and marching along, with 2016 continuing to offer show-goers a full day’s worth of experiences, from animals, showbags and exhibits to an extravaganza of entertainment food and an amusement park.

New to 2016 is a life-sized Lego Tardis that will surely please Doctor Who fans. Located outside the Showbag Hall on Riverina Avenue, the construct is expected to entice fans to buy the official Doctor Who showbag ($26).

2016 tickets for the annual fair are going for $37 for each adult and $22 per child. Concession tickets are $27 while family tickets are sold at $99.50. A family of four can expect to spend around $450 for their visit to australia’s largest event, according to the SMH.

The fair opens at 9am, with evening entertainment concluding at 9am, the showbag hall closing at 9:30pm and the amusement park open “until late”.

This year, tickets for an adult is $37, 00, child is $22.00, concession is $27.00 and family is $99.50.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, it will cost around $450 for a day for a family of four.
